Norii
Norii is a 23-year-old native San Diegan who combines her love of experimental and feel-good music with esoteric lyricism, creating her curious, art-pop sound. Even though she grew up in a town so close to LA, music was always a pipe-dream, so she took the more tangible route of getting into med school. Once at college, she quickly reached a demoralization threshold, and flew back home for a gap year. Rediscovering her love of music carried her through this period of uncertainty, leading her to take the leap and pursue her kid-dream. Norii’s lyrics are unabashedly self-reflective, weaving her experiences with heartbreak, depression, eating disorders, and a semi-dysfunctional family, into an ongoing story of her life.
Exocoetidae” showcases San Diego artist Norii’s chops as a songwriter and singer. Using bright, theatrical production as her vehicle, she glides seamlessly between fantasy imagery and personal revelation, turning family estrangement into empowerment while pouring her soul out with a passionate vocal performance.
